The villas name, ”Ljuvlig” literally translates to ”lovely” and in the Swedish language this word is used for something that is extraordinary special, which you will discover this property truly is.
This mansion is the perfect choice for those who are planning to visit Gotland and desire to feel that connection with its history.
Originally built as a vicarage it has now been transformed in a wonderful Scandinavian home with an abundance of light due to its generous high ceilings and tall windows. Each room in this mansion is extremely spacious, making it perfect for a larger group or for a smaller group looking for that exclusivity.
The mansion is surrounded by a large garden on the backside which faces the southwest, a fantastic spot to see the sun set. On the front of the mansion there is a large driveway leading up to the villa.
Visby is Scandinavia’s best-preserved medieval town. It’s also Sweden’s most photogenic destination, as if pulled from the pages of a well-worn storybook. With hauntingly beautiful Gothic churches and 12th-century ramparts, it’s a place where history is written large.

The kitchen and dining area hold lovely Scandinavian features, such as the famous Öglan chairs around the dining table, and a Mocca Master coffee brewer. A feature seen often in historic Scandinavian buildings are the original tiled fireplaces, of which this villa boasts 7 of these gorgeous eye-catchers. Lastly, the hard wooden and chevron patterned wooden floors finalize that Scandinavian touch to the villa.

From the villa it is only a short 15 minute drive to the centre of historic Visby. The medieval town of Visby is definitely a must-visit, the remaining historic features date from the 12th century, and its 3.5 km city wall is almost entirely intact.
10 minutes driving from the villa you will find Roma Kungsgård, a closter with a history dating back to the 11th century. The closter has functioned as a country holiday estate and as a monastery, and is nowadays a cultural hotspot with many activities for both young and old.
