Villa Sommardröm is a modern, light-filled home set on the peaceful, car-free island of Tranholmen — a rare oasis surrounded by water and nature. This 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom villa is designed for relaxed summer living, with space for up to 8 adults and two cribs available for babies or small children.

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the home with natural light, opening onto a spacious terrace with views over the water. From your private dock, you can take a morning swim, paddle out with a coffee, or simply watch the boats pass by. The house is fully equipped for slow mornings, outdoor grilling, and evenings shared with family and friends.

Exploring the archipelago by boat is one of the best ways to experience Swedish summer. Add a day cruiser to discover hidden beaches, quiet islands, and restaurants accessible only from the water. We’ll tailor the route and setup to your plans — or arrange a private charter with a skipper if you prefer to relax and enjoy the ride.

Tranholmen is located just 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) north of downtown Stockholm. After a short private boat transfer to the mainland (included in your stay), the city center is about a 30-minute drive away — making it easy to enjoy Stockholm’s museums, dining, and culture while returning home to your private island hideaway.

Exploring Tranholmen and nearby gems

Villa Sommardröm is located on the nearest island to the centre of Stockholm; Tranholmen. The most convenient way to commute to the city is to take the SL boat over to Ropsten. From there it is either a 15 minute ride with the metro or a 5 minute drive to central Stockholm.

While Villa Sommardröm offers peace and privacy, there are a few special spots worth visiting nearby:

David at Home – Located right on Tranholmen, this intimate home-restaurant serves seasonal tasting menus from chef David Enmark. A unique dining experience just a short walk away (booking required).

Hagaparken – After your short boat ride to the mainland, it’s about 15 minutes by car to this royal park with walking paths, open lawns, and historic pavilions. A perfect spot for a stroll or picnic.

Skansen – A 20-minute drive from the dock, Skansen is an open-air museum that brings Swedish heritage to life, with historic buildings, Nordic wildlife, and seasonal events. Great for families.

Gröna Lund – Stockholm’s classic amusement park sits right on the water, about 20 minutes by car from your mainland arrival point, or 30 min by boat from your private dock. Rides, concerts, and games make it a fun day trip for all ages.
