Sleeping beneath the stars has never been more applicable than at this villa, which is where it owes its name to since ”Stjernehimmel” is the Norwegian word for starry sky.

Villa Stjernehimmel is entirely built using wooden materials given that true winter cabin feeling. All walls, floors, and ceilings are paneled with different types of wood and it truly creates a warm place to come back to after a day in the snow.

One of the great aspects of this villa is the separate ski storage cabin, to rinse off and store all ski equipment, avoiding any snow debris in the villa.

Since the villa can accommodate such a large group of people, the sauna is thankfully of a large size as well. From the sauna area it is possible to roll through the snow after which to hop over to the bubbling steaming jacuzzi, and to take the time to gaze up at the starry sky.

Due to the low amount of artificial light on this mountain, the sky at night is extremely clear and makes for some extraordinary stargazing.

The layout of the house

Villa Stjernehimmel is a fantastic place for several families to get together or a larger group of friends. In total there are 8 bedrooms that accommodate 27 guests in total:

5 bedrooms accommodating 4 guests each
1 bedroom accommodates 3 guests
2 bedrooms accommodating 2 guests each
And the villa comes with 4 bathrooms and another 2 separate toilets.

Besides the sleeping quarters there are many common areas as well, centered around the large open plan kitchen and living area with indoor fireplace. On the first floor there is a pool table, a TV snug, and a second seating corner.

The villa is installed with floor heating and music speakers in all rooms except the bedrooms (even in the sauna). The heat, light, and music are all controlled through the HDL smart home system.

Location

Villa Stjernehimmel is located on the mountain and therefore directly connected to some of the slopes of the Hafjell ski resort. The Hafjell ski resort offers slopes of all levels, from the easiest children slopes to the most advanced black slopes, and offers a ski school as well.

The entire ski resort is facing the sun and has good snow conditions from mid-November till mid-April. In addition to great and various slopes, Hafjell got one of Norway’s largest trails of cross-country skiing. After the sun goes down, it is also possible to enjoy cross-country skiing at Mosetertoppen with 7km of lighted trails.
